CAROL STEWART - DIRECTOR
Carol has directed PRP since 1976. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Art Education from SMU and a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of North Texas. She holds a Texas Teacher Certificate. A high point in her career was seeing the many ex-students and their families who attended the 50th anniversary of Preston Royal Preschool. Carol loves her job and enjoys walking, preparing meals for friends and traveling with her husband and family.
CAROLYN HARRISON - 4-YEAR-OLDS
Carolyn has a bachelor's degree in social work from Texas Woman's University and an M.S. in social work from the University of Texas at Arlington, with a specialization in working with families and children. She interned at the Family Assessment Consultation and Therapy Service in conjunction with the Plano ISD. Volunteer work has included the Foster Child Advocate Service, AIDS/Arms, and St. Monica and Shelton PTA's. Carolyn’s students enjoy the wide variety of themes and projects she presents to them.
MARY ANN TROTZUK - 2-YEAR-OLDS
Mary Ann has been associated with the school since her oldest son enrolled in 1980. Her four children are alumni and her grandsons are currently students. She has taught at PRP since 1985, and is also director of the after school program at St. Monica School. Mary Ann has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Creighton University, with supplemental work in early childhood education at Brookhaven. She enjoys working on home improvement projects, gardening, reading and spending time with her grandchildren . “I feel very blessed to work with children. Their wonder and delight in the simple pleasures found in butterflies, doodle bugs and cardboard boxes brings much joy into my life.”
KITTY AMMANN - 4 - 5 YEAR-OLDS
Kitty grew up in south Florida, and graduated from Florida State University with a B.S. in Social Work and Psychology. She and her husband moved to the Dallas area when he was offered a job at UTD as a statistics professor. They have a son in graduate school, and a daughter embarking upon her career. Kitty loves to travel, cook, spend time with family, and take pictures. She is involved in outreach and mission activities at her church. Kitty has taught the oldest children at PRP for seven years. Her students’ excitement about being ready for their kindergarten experience as the year ends is a great reward for her.
EMILY BIDDLER - ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT, AIDE
Emily graduated from Kansas State University with a B.S. in Home Economics. She completed a dietetic internship at Baylor University Medical Center, where she worked as a clinical dietitian for five years. Emily has worked in Early Childhood for more than 20 years. She is married and has a married daughter in Charlotte, NC and a son who teaches and coaches in the Richardson Independent School District. She enjoys traveling (especially cruises), antique shopping, and Masonic activities.
LAURIE MORGAN - 3-YEAR-OLDS
Laurie has been employed at Preston Royal Preschool since January, 1999. When Laurie and her family moved to Dallas from the Washington, D.C. area, she chose PRP for her three-year-old son. Laurie has a special gift for teaching and encouraging young children. She holds a B.A. in Communications from the University of Virginia. She is an active volunteer at her children’s schools, in children’s programs at her church, and for the Boy Scouts.
NORA SANTIAGO - 3-YEAR-0LDS
Nora is married and has three children. Her youngest daughter attended PRP for three years. Nora enjoys spending summers in Miami where most of her family still lives. She attended Florida International University and has been working with young children for twelve years. She's been with PRP for six years, providing her students with challenging activities which show them that learning is fun!
KAREN UPTON - 4-YEAR-OLDS, ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
Karen is a native Dallasite who holds a B.A. in Elementary Education from the University of Dallas, post graduate work in Education from the University of North Texas and a Professional Teaching Certificate in the state of Texas. She has more than 35 years of experience working with children ages pre K—8. Karen joined the PRP staff in 1982. Her two grown children attended PRP. Karen enjoys reading, as well as arts and crafts.
GLORIA RAMIREZ—2-YEAR-OLDS
Gloria graduated from International Business College and worked as a legal secretary and medical transcriptionist before finding her calling as a teacher of young children. Gloria works with our youngest students, and they find great security in spending time with such a patient and loving mentor. At St. Monica School, Gloria serves as part-time Preschool Secretary and as a teacher in the after-school program. She also enjoys volunteering at the school her children and grandchildren attend.
AUTUMN SCHNITZIUS---3-YEAR-OLDS
Autumn discovered PRP in 2007, when she enrolled her younger daughter. She began teaching our two’s and three’s in the fall of 2008. Autumn started a successful preschool program in Seattle, and before that, she taught swimming and worked with disabled children at a therapeutic horseback riding center. Autumn’s degree in Psychology from the University of Washington, combined with her skill in guiding and communicating with children, equip her well for teaching.
APRIL OSBORNE—ENRICHMENT
April has worked in Early Childhood Education since she was a teen. With her keen understanding of children, she was our favorite substitute last year. Now, April works one-on-one with our four- and five- year olds, preparing them for kindergarten. She challenges the children with games, encourages their gross- and fine-motor development and sharpens their pre-reading and writing skills. She directs her instruction to each child’s level of ability.
EILEEN WEBER—ENRICHMENT
Eileen holds a B.A. in English from Texas A&M and an MBA from the University of Dallas. Before coming to PRP, Eileen worked in Communications as a speechwriter at EDS, a global information technology company. She has coached children’s sports for more than 10 years and is involved as a room parent at St. Rita Catholic School. Eileen works one-on-one with our four- and five-year-olds, enabling them to acquire the skills they will need in kindergarten. She utilizes each student’s learning style in teaching letters, phonics, numbers, sequencing and matching.
NINA HOWELL—MUSIC
Nina enhances our music program one day a week with songs and games selected to teach a variety of music concepts. Most of all, she fosters a love of music in each child. Nina has taught preschool music for years, and she has been at PRP since January, 2008.
MARY TRIPP—SPANISH
Senora Tripp brings to PRP the skills of a native speaker. She has lived in Mexico and has taught Spanish at several different schools since coming to Dallas. One day a week, she makes learning a second language fun by presenting her lessons using games, songs and pictures. Mary has been at Preston Royal Preschool since 2009.
